Coping With Anxiety:
Finding The Right Anxiety Cures For You
If you are someone who is
has spent anytime searching for ways of controlling anxiety you know it can often be a very challenging even depressing experiencing trying
to find your anxiety cures.
While there are a huge number of
pharmaceutical drugs offered as effective anxiety treatments, all drugs have side effects that can often make the cure worse
than and complaint. In fact many medications that are touted as anxiety cures in many cases can actually make the condition
worse.
And yet many people see drugs are their first, and sometimes only choice for an anxiety treatment. It is very
important that when you consider any anxiety treatment option is that you think about taking back control of your life and understanding the
reasons why you have anxiety attacks.
One of the most basic fundamental things you can do to help
yourself in coping with anxiety is to make a daily practice of some relaxation technique. By regularly practising a relaxation technique not only
can you begin to stop anxiety attacks from occurring, or at the very least lessening their frequency and intensity, you can also begin to
familiarise yourself with a physiological state that is basically the opposite of how you would be during an anxiety attack.
In this way just as your anxiety state has become familiar to you
a state of relaxation and comfort can also become more familiar and in this way the relaxation state becomes a very powerful tool for coping with
anxiety.
It is also very important to maintain a positive mindset as much
as possible in your day-to-day life. This may not always be possible when in the middle of panic attack or an anxiety attack but where possible
during those periods of relative calm focusing on what's going well in your life at the moment and the things that are working for you and making
a habit of this kind of contemplation can be of great value and a very effective anxiety treatment in and of itself.
In looking at anxiety cures and anxiety treatment strategies two
fundamental aspects need to be considered.
Firstly, your internal state, or what is going on inside you; the
thoughts that you habitually think; the self talk that you habitually indulge in; the worst case scenarios that you visualise and make real in
your own mind.
The tendency for people who suffer from anxiety attacks to
“catastrophise” and blow out of all proportion what is happening at any point in time and especially so when they begin to feel anxious and
panicky, contributes as much as anything to the continuation of their anxiety and panic attacks.
As far as looking for ways to cure their anxiety attacks, their
internal state is probably the most important aspect that needs to be considered.
While the internal state of an anxiety sufferer needs to be considered in any anxiety
treatment plan so to does the environmental factors that are occurring outside and around the person suffering with anxiety.
Here we need to consider everything is going on within our
environment. Those people who are a regular of part of our day-to-day activities; the people that you are in relationships of one kind or another
with; your immediate environment such as your home & workplace; the work that you do etc all may be contributing significantly to the
frequency and intensity of your anxiety and panic attacks.
If there are certain factors in your environment that are shown
to cause or at least contribute to your anxiety attacks you may want to consider making changes or at the very least adjusting those
environmental factors so they no longer have such an impact on you.
For many people making external environmental changes are often
easier than changing their internal mental and emotional states and habits. This is due to the fact
that it's often very difficult to analyse ourselves particularly when we are experiencing anxiety, but it can be simpler to identify something in
our environment and either remove it, or ourselves, from that environment.
In the end however, we can't keep running forever. We can't keep
eliminating things from our environment or running away from those things in our environment that are making us anxious.
A much better long-term strategy has to involve addressing our
negative thoughts and beliefs and programming that are causing the anxiety disorders in the first place.
If you are having trouble coping with anxiety and have given up hope of ever
finding a treatment plan that will cure anxiety attacks you need to take a look at panic away.
